sound great, don't always work great

I had to get a new bluetooth 5.3 adapter to get it to work with Windows 7, the sound is great, but not enough volume. If I use skype I have to change all kinds of settings then the stereo no longer works for my tunes. I WANT to keep this, but haven't found any fixes for the few issues I have, I'm still scouring the net for help.
