Wet and wild in 1937 India.
Great story and most remarkable special effects. 1939's effects are so much better than modern computer generated ones. The great Myrna Loy got top billing, but equally great was Tyrone Power (handsomer than any human being has the right to be) and terrific support from George Brendt. This black and white version is better than the 1950's color one.

First and only Oscar for "Most Artistic" movie.
One of my top five movies of all time, and a movie from 1927! Janet Gaynor and George O'Brian are unforgettable. I prefer the original music and sound effects sound track. Makes you smile and cry, sometimes at the same time.
