IPod Nano 3rd Generation

This version of the iPod Nano is a nice size. Its squarer than previous Nanos and also squarer than the new version of the Nanos. I believe this particular model was the first of the Nanos to come with a screen. What I liked in particular about this Nano is being that its not the most up to date model the price is significantly lower than what is currently available. It has all the functions you could possibly need and unless you want to store multiple films, the 8 GB memory will give you sufficient capacity for a long time. The new current Nano comes with a camera and I cannot see the need for that given that most phones now have cameras and a lot of people carry pocket sized digital cameras. So with the newer Nanos I think you are paying for a gimmick that you don't really need (and paying a significant amount more to own one). I would recommend this iPod player as being the best of the range of iPods on the market, it's a nice convenient small size, has multiple function, a decent sized storage capacity, a nice range of colours and best of all they are going for a great price as they are not the current model. So if you don't mind not have the newest, whizziest iPod, but instead want a good sized, good capacity multiple function iPod I would definitely recommend this model.

Motorola A835 Mobile Phone

This phone is brillient on the functionality front - it has everything you need, bluetooth, infrared, camera etc. Where it falls down is on its size - it is quite a bit bigger than modern mobiles and is more like the older "brick" size mobiles of old. The other thing is that it does not seem to have a very long battery life and so needs to be on charge more often than other contemporay phones. On the plus side on the second hand market these phones come up quite cheaply and are a good value for the money that is being asked for them. So if you want a multi-functional mobile phone that is good value for money and the size does not bother you - this is the phone for you.

The Prestige by Christopher Priest (1995 SIGNED First Edition)

An excellent plot with lots of twists!

A brilliant book that was made into a fantastic film. The film does not follow the book exactly but major elements of the story are dramatised well in the film. I highly recommend this book for the plot twists and turns and the dramatic ending.
