Joby UltraFit Hand Strap with UltraPlate - Open Box

Great for those with Arca compatible tripod heads
I changed from using a neck strap on my cameras a few years ago, and still find a hand strap much more convenient. The fact that this one has an in-built tripod mount makes it especially useful for regular (or occasional) tripod users, as long as your tripod head is the Arca compatible type. One other benefit inusing a hand strap rather than a neck strap is that it is so much easier to grab the camera out of a bag and pack it away after use. On my own cameras (Sony A7 II and a6500), a handstrap does restrict movement of the right hand, so accessing some buttons on top of the camera is quite awkward, but that a compromise I'm willing to deal with. Overall, I'm happy with this product, and will continue to use hand straps as opposed to neck straps.

Brilliant overall image quality outweighs its inconveniences
I was trying to decide between this and the Nikkor 16-35mm VR lens, but got a virtually new version of this on eBay at an excellent price, so that was the decider. It's a big, bulky, heavy lens, but less so than I thought it would be from my reading of various reviews. It definitely takes more care to use this lens than any others I own, so how much care you are willing to give your equipment is a crucial factor to consider. Results are stunning for such a wide angle lens - superbly sharp, low distortion and saturated colour. This lens does not accept any screw-on or rear filters; the only option that I know of is a very expensive Lee system designed specifically for the Nikkor 14-24mm. You also have to be extra vigilant for lens flare due to the bulbous nature of the front element. Overall however, I am extremely pleased with this lens. For me, the quality of the results outweigh the inconveniences, and I am very glad that I chose this model as my wide angle lens.
