HP 934A harmonic mixer.
The HP 934A harmonic mixer has found use in many pieces of Hewlett-Packard instrumentation. The mixer is usable over a frequency range of 2-15 GHz. The mixer is passive and needs no external power.

Handy three function wire-wrap tool.
This tool performs three functions: stripper, wrapper, and unwrapping. The small plate in the middle of the body is the stripper. One end of the tool functions as the wrapper. There is a small axial hole in which the wire is inserted, the tool is slid over the wrapping post and the tool is twirled to make a clean gas tight wrap. The opposite end of the tool is use to unwrap a connection. I is important when purchasing wire to no which size the tool is designed to handle. This particular model is for #30 wire.

Cheaper better controller
Once you have completed building, programming, and testing an Arduino Uno based project, you will probably want to make a more rugged unit that uses less power. The Canaduino Uno Bone is perhaps the best option. Unnecessary components have been removed, some other optional components including the 3.3V regulator can be added or deleted. The physical size and mounting hole patterns are the same. The power consumption is reduced and at the same time a higher power 5v regulator is mounted directly to the circuit board. The external power connections are more robust. Some functions such as LED indicators can be powered off by removing a shorting clip. The only drawback is trivial: the programming components have been eliminated to save cost and power. However what I do is simple, I program a Atmega328P-PU MCU on the original test/development Arduino Uno and then just move the chip to the Uno Bone That could hardly be simpler. The kit is available in two models; the "Maxx" and the "Basic." The difference is the Maxx kit has a few more components which can usually be found on a typical workbench. Both come with what I would considered to be the bare essentials. I have purchased over a dozen of the kits and have been pleased with each and every one.
