Didn't realize how old the product was so software compatibility and searching for updated driver was a chore. I needed the firewire for transfers.
1 of 1 found this helpful The Pinnacle Studio MovieBox USB 510 does work well for the purpose I bought it for, which is to transfer my Mini DV tapes via Firewire into my 2012 Lap Top with Windows 10 that does not have a Firewire port. However, the software is very old and I had problems with the install due an unsigned driver. I had to dig around to find an updated driver in order to get the USB 510 operational. I haven't tried to reboot the nearly 10-year old software because I have newer updated editing software, which is working fine with the Pinnacle USB 510 hardware. So, in the end, this was the only product I could find that would allow me to transfer videos from my Sony DV camera via Firewire to my PC for editing and preservation. I paid too much for what I'm using it for, but it does work and was the only solution I could find.
