Real life diary of a WAAF unwillingly looking for love in a time of war
I have many books about WW2 and most have been well written, but I find personal memoirs such as this the best and although I have read better (Pip Beck, WAAF in Bomber Command) I still found it a wonderful book. The advantages this book has over Pip Beck's is that it is her raw emotions she felt at the time written on the day she felt them and is written in a clear diary format, whereas Pip reminisces on the most part, but it still reads very well. I do and have recommended this book.

fantastic, genuine emotion with real happenings of a WWII WWAF!
I love this book. Perfect contrast of real life occurances with wording even a civilian can understand, with romance and tragedy but with genuine emotions of someone who was really there. I found it wonderful that a non-fiction book could include what would be known as "twists and turns" in a fiction without having to dramatise it or justify them. I definitely prefer books that are based on personal memoirs and diaries than the educational-like books you get sometimes. I even bought this as a christmas present for my best friend (who like me is a 21 year old female)
