Wasabi Power Battery for Canon LP-E6,LP-E6N & Canon EOS 5D Mark II III 6D 7D 70D

Doesn't come up to expectations

I have used this battery as a backup for my 5dsr. Compared to the original battery it only holds about 70% of the power when it was new. After very little use and a year on it now holds littler more than 25% and loses charge just storing it for couple of weeks. The original Canon battery is still holds the same charge as when it was new and doesn't discharge if not used for a couple of weeks. I am now replacing Wasabi Power battery with a genuine Canon battery as the charge doesn't long enough even as a backup battery.

This is not MPPT regulator

I bought this thinking that it was a MPPT as a wanted to use it on 24V solar panel running into a 12Volt battery. An true MPPT regulator would convert the 24 Volts low current into 12 Volts high current. It did dropped Voltage correctly but didn't increase the current, so large losses. I looked up on the internet and found many others had the same experience and came to the same conclusion I did. If you want a PWM regulator it seems to work OK on a 12V solar panel and a 12V battery although there are much cheaper options around.

Can't go wrong for the money

The only problem, which really wasn't a problem is that I had to install it upside down for it to work for my mower. All the holes and screws fitted and was installed in 10 minutes. The mower starts like a new one now.
