Ordinary Courage
Most accounts of any war is written from the stand point of the generals and politicians that run the show. This one is very different.
This little account of the life and times of a real revolutionary solder who never rose to a rank higher than private, is very interesting and insightful. When you read this, You have a greater appreciation of what our founders and those who fought the British for us had to endure. If you think you are a patriot, think again. These guys were real patriots.
It is not a pretty story and not very glorious. Those early revolutionary solders make our Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan solders look like a bunch of sissies. The hardships they faced were monumental.
And when it was over and they had won their independence and OURS, they were made to wait for their discharge papers and their measly pay in script that was worthless. There land grants were mishandled and stolen. Basically, it was what happened to the Vietnam vets in spades.
But I definitely I recommend this little book if you are a history buff.

Cyrano de Bergerac
This is a classic film. Black and white but like an old fashioned play on film. The characters come and go much like one would expect them to in a Shakespearian play and the action and sword fights are wonderful. Even though it starts off as a comedy, I always find myself in tears at the end and I'm a guy who is pretty hard hearted. Just a wonderful movie.

4 lens loupes
Lower quality than the Donngal Optivisor but good enough to use in a pinch. The adjustment knob is really tight and I had to put a rubber band around it to get a good enough grip to tighten mine.
I keep a pair of these at the church workshop for the guys to use if they need to. These are a good buy for an extra pair of loupes that you want to keep in the car or in the shop.
They also make a nice, cheap gift for a friend who will use them once in a while.
