Sound Quality is Terrible

I bought this phone for my daughter, and she likes it, but the sound quality is far from what I would expect from an Apple product. She says phone calls sound tinny and muffled. We've tried just about everything we can find online to troubleshoot, and nothing has worked. We'll have to take it somewhere to have it looked at and pay to have it fixed, if it's even possible. Oh, well. You win some, you lose some. That's what I get for trying to save a little money, I guess.
