Heatsink fan set itself works beautifully. Installing the rest of the accesory heatsinks on the chips...different story.
Purchased for an EVGA NVidia GTX 970. Replaced the ACX 2.0 stock cooler.
This heatsink setup has 5 heat pipelines leading straight into the cpu plate. They flow long and straight away from the cpu block into a large block of aluminum fins. These heatpipes don't twist or turn, which I think is the most efficient way of pulling heat away from the cpu . The unit is quite large, and will take some really fine hand-maneuvering to get the heatsink to mount correct. To make things easier, I removed the 3 fan unit from the heatsink. Just a little prying took half the bulk of size from this project, and allowed easier mounting to the naked video card.
Instructions are vague, but are better explained on YouTube.
The most time consuming part of this upgrade was the placement of the accessory heatsinks for your memory chips and other areas of heat worry. Believe me it is worth taking the time to do this, as the sinks work very well when properly placed. once everything is placed, you can finish your upgrade and assemble the heatsink to the completed sinked video card.
Now the one thing I do wish was better where the speed of the fans. the 3 fans put out a max rpm of about 2100. This is great for low noise. I just wish for about 500 to 1000 more rpm personally. I did run some stress on my GTX 970, 3dmark 11 at 1920x1080, and my temps never went above 49 Celsius.
This Arctic Accelero was definitely worth the purchase and time to setup. It is not for the faint of heart, so make sure you do your research before getting one.
