    Top Notch Horror Comedy
Not many films pull off mixing Horror and Comedy, but this film does it with ease. The story and script are engaging and the characters are relatable and enjoyable (the greatest being the stoner). The backwoods setting is magnificent and the death scenes are over-the-top (just the way I like them). The biggest plus this film has to offer is the comedy aspect. It uses every cliche in the book, but either makes a witty joke of it or turns it around on you. You never really know what to expect and that's what kept me watching. This enthralling satire does for slashers what Shaun of the Dead did for zombies. Do yourself a favor and grab a copy today.

    Interesting Modern Teen Slasher
I've wanted to see this one for quite some time, but didn't get the chance until I bought a copy off Ebay. I was not disappointed with my buy. This film really surprised me. It isn't very often that I find a slasher film, let alone a modern one, that succeeds in stepping outside the box in terms of surrealism. The striking Gothic imagery throughout really helped accent the characters, their unfolding situation and the overall style of the film. The setting oozes atmosphere and the killer rocks a pretty sweet Big Bad Wolf inspired costume. The body count is low, but the film never shied away from the violence...even if the deaths weren't gory. There were only a few things that brought it down. One was how confusing things got toward the end...the surrealism took over and things stopped making sense. The other problem I had was the dubbing in my copy. The film was originally done in French and the English dubbing did not do it justice. All the actors did a great job expression-wise, I just think to would've worked better with their real voices...I gladly would've read through it. Otherwise it was a treat. If you're looking for something different as far as slashers go check this one out.

I Know It's Lame, But I Like It
I'm a huge Freddy Krueger enthusiast, but I'll be the first to tell you that the only one's in the Nightmare series worth a damn are the ones that Wes Craven sat in the director's chair for. That being said, I still love all the sequels...this one is no exception. Sure the script is garbage, the body count is low and the ending leaves a lot to be desired, but that doesn't mean there aren't things about this film that make it worthy of watching. Dream Child marks the triumphant return of Alice (my personal favorite Nightmare survivor) and Dan (although his return is short lived). The rest of the cast turns in decent performances and even if wisecracking Freddy is in full swing, it's still a joy to watch Robert Englund do his thing. Not only that, but the idea behind the crappy script isn't all that bad. I mean, Freddy getting at Alice's friends through the dreams of her unborn child is pretty sinister if you think about it. Also, just because the body count is low doesn't mean there aren't deaths worth seeing. The comic book death, although not gory, is still one of my favorites in the whole series. Overall it's still enjoyable. Not as good as Dream Master, but still better than Freddy's Dead.
