Make sure you get the right model
The e740 is an excellent PDA but be aware that there are 3 models of E740.
PA3170E0-P01 Has NO wireless or Bluetooth built in
PA3170E0-P01 Has wireless only
PA3170E0-P01 Has Bluetooth only
All 3 are great, but check whick model you are buying.
Great all round PDA which cannot be upgraded from Pocket PC 3.0. Still plenty of software works on it and the wireless model is great for basic web browsing. No video is possible it copes fine with images and text. Great to have to hand to quickly look up an actor or actress when watching TV, or solve a niggling question.
Li-ion battery is handy, you don't have to completely discharge it, so can constantly top it up without damage.
I find Oronic works great as a quick look up planetarium for my astonomy hobby.
PocketTune is great for tuning my Guitar, electronic tuners cost at least a tenner, you can get a basic E740 for that.
With my DVD collection in Pocket Excel, I can look up any film in seconds.

Dab, Alexa, Bluetooth and WiFi speaker
Not only a great DAB radio and Bluetooth, but Alexa with a great speaker. I have two and they also act as multi room WiFi speakers using the Majority app. I am very pleased with them and use them to set alarms, listen to Internet radio and search the Internet.
Sound quality is excellent, as it has a wooden case. Bass is good and the definition of sound is as good as it gets.
