Okay, so the first thing you will notice is that this is NOT a cheap soldering iron.
If you are not good at soldering this tool is not a miracle cure that will neither disguise nor improve bad technique or working practices!
HOWEVER.... If you are competent at soldering this tool will help make the job easier, especially for those difficult to reach and fine solder joints that require delicacy, finesse, and swift application of closely regulated temperature to avoid excessive heat flow to nearby components.

Great piece of kit
I bought this wanting a comb raiser due to a design deficiency in the OEM stock and a relatively high action.
It holds in position securely
It holds rifle specific equipment so my toolbox doesn't have to and the correct pieces are to hand as and when they are required.
It redeems awkward design (remember the rules of marksmanship... it alleviates undue effort)
For such a seemingly basic piece of equipment it has a profound effect on getting the rifle to function for you as well as the convenience of storage.

What a fantastic bit of kit.
Using it to film during a conference style presentation and QA session was an absolute pleasure when compared to a lighter weight traditional 'mobile' tripod.
It is combined with the 516 fluid head. My videographer had nothing but superlatives to describe it when comparing it to the venerable Gitzo that required euthanazia more than repair that had previously been available...
Thoroughly recommended as a stable base for high quality results. If you have one of these you will know it is not going to be the weakest link of your rig.
