Dark and cd
This is part of a series of noir detective stories. They are gritty and sometimes gory but the the descriptions of the Wintry Maine landscape are beautifully bleak and evocative. The story veers from realistic cop story to the supernatural.
I loved it and I’m already half way through the next.

Enchanting
This delightful little film uses the beautiful illustrations from the book to tell the story of Mowser and her man Tom and how they attempt to battle the great Storm Cat to bring home a catch. It is narrated by Sian Philips.
It is enchanting for all ages,

Overlord
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this, having watched Brian Stirner in the BBC As You Like it. There seems little of his work available but I came upon this film. It seems very low-key, low-budget but is an absolute gem. Filmed in black and white and under the auspices of the Imperial War Museum, it combines archive footage with the very understated experiences of a new recruit leading up to the D Day landings. It's charm lies in the understatement and this leads to the real impact on the viewer of the young soldier's fate. It is moving, but not in the sentimentalised way of many war movies.
I would certainly recommend it.
