Easier than a bouncy blowdry.
I have quite porous hair, so I was not expecting to dry it in 15 minutes, as some had said it would. It took quite a bit longer than my hairdryer. That said, the results were much smoother than using a dryer and barrel brush.
The 'straightner' takes a little longer, but not too much, but I find it so much easier to get the big waves and volume with the Shark than straightening/blow drying.
It is good for adding volume or waves between washes if your hair is looking a bit flat.
It's a bit big, and I found it a little awkward at first, but I got used to it quite quickly.
It's not going to replace my hair dryer, due to the extra drying time, but that's due to the porosity of my hair rather than the styler.
But I'm glad I brought it at the price I did.
