Cheap, variable quality, but potentially good sound with the right mods. Audio hobbyist special.
1 of 1 found this helpful These were Best Buy's Private Label Speakers in the early 2000's that retailed for $60-70 each new.
Knowing nothing about them, I picked up four of these for $70 used in a local pawn shop, on a whim based on their appearance. Out of the four, two (one from each pair, not from the same pair with matching serial number/date codes) sound pretty close to each other, one sounds a bit different, and the last one sounds raspy/gritty in the upper mid-range... that one was relegated for use only as a surround-sound speaker.
Trendy looking, with potential for good sound from a 6-3/4" coaxial carbon fiber woofer and 1" cloth soft-dome tweeter, I learned that these speakers enjoyed a "cult" following as a "fixer-upper" among certain audio hobbyists. However, they need quite a bit of work -and a little luck of the draw- to get and make a matching good-sounding pair of legitimate Hi-fi speakers out of them.
Their primary flaws are a cabinet that resonates like a guitar body due to the thin side panels that have grooves cut into them in order to be bent into the curved shape of the cabinet sides, the poor quality of electrical components in the crossover filter network, and generally inherent unit-to-unit performance inconsistencies of the low-cost chinese loudspeaker drivers themselves. I suppose that at that price new, you get what you pay for.
After you factor in the time and money spent upgrading the crossover network components, internally stiffening up the cabinet sides, and adding fiberglass insulation, you may as well have spent $250-300 on a good pair of new speakers that sound really good right out of the box.

BUT- I LOVED IT FOR ALL OF THE REST OF THE DISC!
Beautiful music;recording sound quality is EXCELLENT.
Something you simply can't find these days.

Another fine quality product from Browning

The differences are subtle, but from what I've been told, the standard A-Bolt magazines will not even fit into A-Bolt Micros of the same caliber. Fortunately, I learned of this prior to purchasing the appropriate magazine for my gun or I could've found myself owning a useless magazine
