A "must have" for every dog owner's bookshelf
If you believe that love, rewards, and positive experiences lead to a happy, well-adjusted dog, I highly recommend Peggy Tillman's "Clicking With Your Dog". Ms Tillman gives a wonderful overview of clicker training, which is a precise and positive training method that is fun for owners and dogs alike. She then goes on to provide a "how to" guide for many commonly trained behaviors, as well as problem-solving suggestions, all using the clicker as an event marker and communication device. With "Clicking With Your Dog" in hand, any pet owner can start to explore clicker training with their pet, and move forward to enjoy the many various exercises in the book. The whimsical line drawings clarify the text, turning this book into a "can't miss" experience. There are a number of books I'd recommend to all dog owners, and this one is right near the top of the list.

A true blast from the past
Anyone who grew up in the '60s and '70s will absolutely love this set. I'm thrilled to have all five of my favorite original Monkees albums on CD at last. It's such a treat listening, singing, and (I confess) dancing (when only the dog can see me) to these wonderful tunes! I surprised myself by remembering most of the words to almost all of them (at a time in life when I can't remember what I ate for dinner last night, that's impressive). If you loved the Monkees (the music and the TV show), go ahead and purchase this set. You'll be glad you did!

An excellent guide by a real classic artist
Sam Savitt was, for many years, the official illustrator of the United States Equestrian Team. He was an artist who captured the horse in all its variations, in all its magic, and who relayed that magic to admirers and readers the world over. I had the great privilege to get to know Sam, when he was a client of the veterinarian I worked for, back in the 1980s and would bring in his dogs for visits. He was a wise and delightful human being, always with a story or bit of knowledge to share, and it's an honor to own a copy of this book. "Draw Horses With Sam Savitt" is a well thought out, easy to follow, guide that begins where all art should begin ... with a study of the subject in detail. Sam takes you on a tour of the bone and muscular structure of the horse, and how it relates to your drawing, as he guides the reader step by step through constructing, with practice, life-like drawings. He does not just stop at one angle or pose, but illustrates ways to draw horses in every pose, posture and position, and gives examples of breed differences to help the reader portray the variations and uniqueness of each animal. I recommend this book for beginning artists and "old pros" alike, for there is knowledge imparted every level of artist. Enjoy!
