Minerals of the World by Walter Schumann (1998
Another Walter Schumann excellent book on rocks. The pictures are wonderful and the text is full of little tid-bits of information that comes from a love of the subject matter.

The Color of Death
This book is the classic Elizabeth Lowell "who done it" and it has outstanding character development, a wonderful love story, and a terrific mystery. I grew up with gemstones and the gemstone trade but she covers areas of the gemstone trade that even I did not know. I could not put it down and I can’t wait to read another one of her books.
