Leica R5 Film Camera
2 of 2 found this helpful Throughly reccommend this bit of kit - if you get a good one it's a pleasure to use. I woudl reccommend over the R4 as the R4 was prone to electrical faults but the R5 has a very good reputation.

Excellent 'walk around' lens. Good OS.
1 of 1 found this helpful Superb lens, very fast and very sharp. My previous lens was the non 17-70 non OS and the main physical difference (apart from a little gain in size & weight) is a slight rattle. Initially this raised some concerns for me but after contacting Sigma directly they told me this was due to the electromagnetic OS system, it has a 'floating' glass which when powered will not move. Therefore when attached to a camera and focused, the lens will not rattle.
The Sigma claim that the OS system gives up to a 4 stop advantage does not seem unreallistic and overall I have to say I am very happy with it. I woudl definately reccommend this lens asn an excellent 'walk around' lens.
