Pretty good read for the uninitiated.
I heard this was the 'best biography ever written about a rock star' It's pretty good but it isn't that good, Whichever journo wrote that needs to get some more books.....
That said Nick Tosches is a good writer and this is a good book, it sort of washes over a few eras of Jerry Lee's career but none the less for the uninitiated a good read.

Its really only about Brighton bands.......hmmmm
This may be the worst book about music i have read.
Is it a bad book, no, not at all but is very misleading indeed.
The Lost Women of rock music....nah!
It is actually more a biog of a very small and very insignificant punk scene in Brighton.
This book makes out that bands such as Dolly Mixture and Au Pairs were significant, They were (in the great scheme of things) very insignificant indeed.
The biggest claim to fame for Dolly Mixture was Cap't Sensible and his romantic and producing involvement - Which really goes against the grain of this book.....
Nothing at all about Vermillion Sands, nothing from Siouxsie, nothing from Jordan, nothing from Soo Catwoman. Very little indeed from Gaye Advert or Chrissie Hyne, Nothing from Debbie Harry. Nice bit from a couple of the Mo-Dettes, Nice little bit from Delta 5 & Lora Logic, Nothing from Poly Styrene, A little bit from Pauline Murray. Loads about Slits. Nothing from Poison Ivy, Eve Libertine, Nothing from Honey Bane. Lots on Vi Subversa. Nothing from Tina Weymouth Joan Jett, Exene Cervenka, Lydia Lunch, Nina Hagan, Lena Lovich, Toyah, Gee Voucher, Hazel O'Conner, B52's, Wendy O'Williams or Shanne Bradley.....the list goes on and on and on and on......
