OPPO DIGITAL BDP-93 BDP-95 DIY MULTI CODE REGION FREE USB UPGRADE CABLE ABC
    18 Dec, 2015
    Works great!
I have only hooked it up externally so far. Opening my Oppo and connecting it inside is for another day. I first tried to play a standard Region 2 PAL DVD. I got sound, but no picture. My first reaction was it was broken, but then all of the reviews say this thing works great, so I unhook the cable and put in a regular NTSC DVD. The Oppo still works, so the cable didn't break it. I then stick in a Region Free PAL DVD that I have played before. Sound but no picture. What the ???. Then I remember. Last year my old Intregra home theater box crapped out and they said it would cost more to fix it than replace it, so I got the latest and greatest Integra. I start looking through my manuals. I have several Region free PALs and have watched them before. Same old Panasonic Plasma and Oppo. The only change is the Integra. I look through the TV manual and it never mentions PAL resolutions or 25 fps frame rate, so the TV clearly doesn't know how to do PAL. The Oppo is set to upscale to 1080p so resolution isn't the issue. I check the Integra manual and it too never mentions nor is there any indication of a frame rate converter, so apparently my old Integra knew how to do automatic frame rate conversion but the new one doesn't. Grrrrr!. Hooked the Integra up to my computer monitor and was able to watch my Region 2 DVD just fine. Well I guess it is time to upgrade the TV to one that can handle 25 fps.

Apple Airport Extreme A1521 Wireless AC Router Wifi White Dual Band

Upgrade your old Airports for increased range.
I have a several building covering a large area requiring connected base routers with extended bridge mode repeaters. I have tried mixing old AirPorts with modern famous brand routers and the setup never worked well at all and I never was able to configure bridge-mode repeaters in a mixed Apple and other brand system. There are now WiFi Mesh systems available that claim they do what Apple Airports have always done. Rather than throwing out all of my existing Airports and purchasing a whole new Mesh system, I discovered the A1521 has a much better range than the older Airport Extreme stations and intend to upgrade all of my old Airports to A1521s.
