Good clean entertainment!
We need more movies like this today. The actors all work well together and "read between the lines" quips are all but a lost art in our society. I highly recommend this movie to anyone that needs a good laugh and wants a quality western. James Garner,Jack Elam, Harry Morgan, Walter Brennan all play their parts well and keep you interested to the last line. I give this movie 4 stars! Be sure to see the sequel, "Support Your Local Gunfighter". Equally entertaining!!!!

Riveting!
1 of 1 found this helpful Such a bittersweet, movie to know that it was John Wayne's last. Still, the plot was kept interesting by daily meditation on what the dying gunman was going to do with his last days. Very thought provoking. Supporting actors such as Ron Howard, (during his Happy Day's series) Lauren Bacall, Harry Morgan, John Carradine, Hugh O'Brien, Richard Boone and James Stewart helped round out the all star cast to make this a successful bon voyage for the "Duke".
