Handy but poor software, poor instruction book and doesn't download toDVD's
I was suprised how small it was but yes I suppose thats why it's called Handycam. Before you unpack it it reminds you to buy a spare battery and yes it's not good at about 50 mins. The replacement battery I bought from ebay was brilliant giving me twice the time of the Sony one at a fraction of the cost.
The instruction book can be confusing. It covers ten different models and you have to look at the paragraph above or below to see if it's applicable to you. I ended up using a felt tip pen to cross out irrelavent stuff.
The biggest problem came when I tried to download to make a DVD. The software isn't complete and requires Imaging files to be downloaded from Microsoft which I couldn't do. The software also overides my Fine pix still camera software which I've used for years. The software should be complete and have everything you need on it and not interfere with other programes
The helpline is poor, I've contacted them Five times and got nowhere and I feel they don't care.
If you don't want to produce DVD's, my sole reason to buy it, it's Handy, it's light, good quality picture and has good zoom but I couldn't recommend it
