Brilliant coffee in minutes from this petite machine.
1 of 1 found this helpful Wonderful little coffee machine, simple to use and makes great coffee. With just three simple buttons, choose either a single or double espresso. The machine heats up in less than a minute, and coffee delivered to perfection (it even pre-heats the filter). If you want an Americano, simply use the steam wand to deliver hot water to the cup prior to pressing the coffee button.
A separate button increases the heat for the milk steamer facilitating easy hot foaming milk if a cappuccino is required. Best to make all coffees first before using the steam wand to heat up milk because after steam, the machine needs to cool down to coffee brewing temperature which can take a few minutes.
The top of the machine acts as a cup warmer, but this works best if the machine is left on as it takes a while to heat up. I tend to switch the machine on, make a coffee and turn off, so the cup warmer does not have time to generate any heat. I simple add hot water to my cup from the steam wand to pre-heat the cup whilst grinding my coffee beans which does the job.
Cleaning is quick and simple. The steamer wand detaches for cleaning, and the coffee filter easily emptied and a quick rinse returns the machine to pristine conditions. Two levels of drip tray allows for all cup sizes.
I've left the machine to use all of its own default settings (works for me), but is is possible to set the cup volume, coffee temperature and water hardness (to allow it to alert you when descaling is needed).
It comes with three filters; single cup, double cup or ESE pods.
I've only had the machine a week, as a replacement for a £50 VonShef espresso machine which had finally died. The difference is well worth the extra expense. Early days, but so far I'm extremely impressed with this coffee maker. It's small, extremely quick, very easy to use and most importantly makes really good coffee.

Brilliant Coffee - the ritual is worth the effort.
5 of 5 found this helpful If you want excellent coffee, you have to put in a little effort. This machine is not a simple bean-to-cup or coffee pods press one button and go contraption. This is a machine for coffee lovers who are prepared to put a little effort into the art of coffee making and the result (after a bit of practice) is so superior. Coffee making is an art, not a science. Invest in an inexpensive electric coffee bean grinder and buy good quality beans. Then follow the instructions for the machine. Always warm your cup. Always run the machine with fresh water to heat the mechanism before adding freshly ground beans. Frothing the milk usually takes more than one blast of the steamer (so there is a pause for the steamer heats up again). All in all it takes about 5 minutes to make a cup of wonderful latte or cappuccino, or three minutes for a black espresso.
