Very Effective Chimney Sweeping System
Chimney Cyclone is an excellent product for cleaning the flue of your log burning stove.
It was particularly suitable for my flue which has several changes in direction, since the flexible rods allow for bends in the flue (up to 45 deg according to the instructions).
The flexibility of the rods also makes it very easy to insert the brush/rods into the flue through the door of the stove, which required insertion at quite an angle.
The brush accommodates differences in flue diameter, since my flue pipe exiting the stove is a smaller diameter than the rest of the flue liner.
Sweeping a 10m flue took about 1/2 hr - the instructions describe using a 1.5mAh to 2.5mAh battery drill. Mine was at the lower end of the power range so I used this initially to insert the brush to the top, then actually used a mains powered drill at low speed (900rpm) to sweep as I extracted the rods.

Best sunglasses I've owned
I've owned a pair of Julbo Micropores for years which are still in excellent condition, though getting a little "long in the tooth" now. So I jumped at the the opportunity to buy another pair when these appeared on eBay in the UK, since although manufactured in France they only seem to be available over the pond in the US.
The quality of the lenses is fantastic for use as a skier and mountaineer, with the Cat4 lenses blocking plenty of light at altitude. The fit is excellent and comfortable, with very flexible earpieces which hold the glasses firmly.
The leather side shields are effective at blocking light from the side, allowing enough air to circulate preventing the glasses steaming up in cold conditions, but preventing wind from making my eyes water when skiing at speed.

Expand-It Brushcutter - compatible with many 25mm shaft strimmers
This brush-cutter attachment is essentially a Ryobi Expand-it accessory, but at about half the cost. However my strimmer is a Spear & Jackson model which appeared to have the same universal shaft (25mm; 4.5mm square drive) so I thought it was worth taking the risk to see if it would fit (hoping that it would be compatible with my model).
It did turn out to be an exact fit (actually requiring a small amount of sanding to the internal diameter of the fitting collar of my strimmer) and works perfectly, so should hopefully it fit any other strimmer with the same universal shaft size.
The beauty of the brush-cutter over a string-strimmer is that any tough bushes, twigs, roots etc don't effect the performance, where the string would break if using the strimmer - highly recommended.
