Turning Point

While many viewers have dinged the X-Files 5th season for being different than the preceding four seasons, it has to be different if you want to play out the internal mythology and keep growing, instead of just repeating the same themes endlessly. This does make for a certain "transitional" feeling, but the quality of the episodes is just as good as the previous seasons. The issue is really whether the viewer is willing to keep exploring the unknown with Mulder and Sculler, or whether they want to stay in the cozy familiarity of their own "backyard". This season also includes an episode showing how Mulder met the Lone Gunmen, an episode that is so good it almost makes the whole season worth the purchase price, even if you're not partial to vampires (1 episode) or adoption of alien hybrids (1 episode), and find Scullys antagonistic brother a bit annoying. Well worth the price!

Amazing quality at a fantastic price!

These pictures look and sound like they were filmed and released this year. The set is affordable, and well worth it. Now, if only they would release a comparable set including "Forbidden Planet", "When Worlds Collide", "The Day the Earth Stood Still", and "Day of the Triffids", hubby and I would be in complete bliss!
