Logitech Harmony Elite Universal Remote Control w/ Full Touchscreen- 915-000256

Best remote for under $1000
This thing is amazing! Super easy to program, it can all be done on your smart phone or tabllet. I had a Harmony One and a Harmony 1100D , both excellent remotes but a pain to program - the Harmony Elite you just plug it in and let your smart phone do the rest. Also works with Alexa which is nice for powering on and shutting off the system

PS3 The Perfect System For The High Definition Fanatic
I was lucky enough to stumble upon a 60 gig PS3 during the Christmas madness. There was one in the back and I couldn’t pass on the opportunity. I then had to purchase another controller, two games, a chiller, Monster Ultra 8000 HDMI cable, skins for my controllers and a few Blu-ray movies bringing the total somewhere around a grand, ouch. And during the actual purchase of the accessories I had to put up with the smart ass kids in the game store smashing the PS3 and boasting their X Box 360’s. I got home and my buyer’s remorse was in full effect until I put in a Blu-ray movie and watched the full 1080p resolution on my 50” set, my smile stretched ear to ear. Experiencing a Blu-ray on a 1080p set freed me of any remorse or doubt inspired by the disgruntled Game Stop employees. I hadn’t even played a game yet and was completely satisfied. I couldn’t figure out why the kids at the store and so many of my friends were smashing the PS3, then it hit me; they had all jumped on the X Box bandwagon (with no 1080p support or HDMI connection) and had matched their TV’s to the technology (720 resolution) and realized that a better system with a faster processor, higher resolution and Blu-ray player included was released. Also they probably came to the realization that HD DVD, which was only half way endorsed by Microsoft, is quickly assuming the role of Betamax in the current media war. So their $400 systems are only game system with an option to upgrade to a dying technology for $200. I am not here to smash the X Box 360, Gears of War is an amazing game and even this Playstation fanatic is considering buying a 360 for the much anticipated Halo 3, but I had to touch on the bitter X Box fan’s criticism. As far as gaming is concerned, Resistance Fall of Man blew me away. The game play is awesome and the graphics are amazing. Loading time is minimal and the controls are similar to that of Halo. I am not here to talk about the games I have purchased, but how they play on the system, and the result is good. Online is fantastic, no charges to play games online unless you want to purchase and download from the Playstation store. They even gave the newest installment of Gran Tourismo HD via free download, which looks great. I like the fact that I can purchase simple fun games like Blastfactor for a mere seven bucks, its quite refreshing from the $60 a piece in the stores. Also I can download and watch the newest movie trailers in full 1080p for free. I like the direction Sony is heading with the online features and I love that I don’t have to pay a monthly fee to use it. The online multiplayer has been incredible for every game I have played, quick load times and very simple, the way it should be. In summary, the PS3 is a great buy is you can afford it and can match the technology (buy a TV that supports 1080p). If you wait a year I am sure the 1080p sets and PS3’s will come down in price and by then the games will have caught up (the PS3 was released a year after the X Box 360). Personally I like to stay on the cutting edge of technology and I am very happy I did.

Bringing The PS3 Up To Speed: Resistance
Resistance was one of the first games I purchased and it helped make the $600 system seem worth it. I would give this game a solid 9 out of 10, I reserve the perfect score for the truly revolutionary games (i.e.: Goldeneye, Super Mario Brothers, Halo, Legend Of Zelda, etc.) , but to give this game a 4 out of 5 would be unjust. To start the graphics are phenomenal as well as the attention to detail. I like that I can melee the balls on the pool table and that they react as well as most of the objects around. I like the spin they take on a Call of Duty era with a Sci-Fi element that truly makes the game unique. I also like that the character you play is infected with the virus but rather than being mutated like every other human it somehow only makes him stronger. This appeals to my anti-social personality disorder. On the medium difficulty level I tore through this game in a few days, on the hardest setting it took a little longer. I like that you get a whole new set of weapons the second time you go through the game, this kept my interest. I also like the co-op which is much like that of Halo. The online feature is fantastic with quick load times and many different options of game play. I like that you get ranks and different levels of merit for online kills, it really allows you to expand your skills and become a better player. I do wish the game had an end boss and a nice long cut scene after completion (although I like that they left plenty of room for a follow up game) I feel like games have strayed away from the prize at the end of the tunnel. The game should have had an online co-op option. And it just wasn’t that innovative other than the story line. In summary I would say no gamer who enjoys the first person shooter will be disappointed in Resistance: Fall Of Man, its certainly a must own for any PS3 gamer.
