"This Island Earth" is a true Science Fiction Classic!

"This Island Earth" is undoubtedly a science fiction classic. I remember watching it as a kid on "Creature Features(here in New York on Metromedia 5), and sitting in rapt attention,with my Coke and popcorn in the dark in my living room. This movie has it all,alien abduction,intergalactic space travel,alien spacecraft,alien technology,mutant creatures,a noble alien,evil aliens,an exploding planet and a spectacular crash at the end. ***At one point,this edition was selling for 300.00 on ebay(that was before it was released on dvd in 2006** Anyway--if you love oldtime science fiction, then This is the movie for you!

The Irishman is a homecoming for Martin Scorcese...

Although a little slow at times, The Irishman is a homecoming of sort..I say that because it is full of actors that have worked with Martin Scorcese over the years. Of course stars like Robert Deniro,Joe Pesce,Harvey Keitel, but actors like Paul Herman, and Welker White(just to name a couple). Then add Al Pacino.Ray Romano,Bobby Carnavale,and so many others(Including Steven Van Sandt as Jerry Vale!), this movie has so many recognizable faces,and with a good script and amazing direction by Martin Scorcese,I highly recommend this movie.

The name is Bond--James Bond

What can you say about a movie that lauched a franchise that's lasted almost 50 years? This movie- Dr. No capitalized on the James Bond craze(Ian Fleming's 007 novels were best sellers at that time)and proved to be a lauching pad for Sean Connery's carrer. Great script,great casting(Sean Connery IS James Bond),as well as great direction. Anyone who hasn't seen it should do so immediately!. As for the print this has gone through extensive restoration(frame by frame) and looks as good as it did at the time of release!The extra's give you a look at the creation process(with archival and newer interviews) and flush out the picture of how this classic movie came to be--
