Item as described, well packaged and a speedy delivery.
Ebay added confusion to the purchase, but the seller resolved the issue and made every effort to make the purchase as smooth as possible. Customer service done right and as it should be. Will definitely use seller again.

I bought 2 of these units to fit in a Dapol Class 142 DMU, which is described as light bar ready.
Yes, there is a socket in each of the DMU cars to plug in a light bar, but...
While these light bars may fit coaches, they are too long to fit in a DMU.
There are no instructions provided on how to fit the light bars in a DMU.
I ended up having to saw off the last 2 LEDs and their associated resistor to fit in the length of the car.
I also had to remove the foam in the body which sits above the decoder, because with it, the body would not fit back on the chassis. I put a length of tape over the decoder to provide some insulation from the light bar.
One of the LEDs is directly above the decoder. In my opinion there are too few LEDs and they are spaced too far apart.
They are also, on normal settings, too bright. I've seen comments from other users saying the same.
I found a CV setting that dims them, but there is some flicker.
They may be fine for coaches, but certainly not for a DMU.
Dapol should produce a different version which is suitable for a DMU

A superb potted history of Airfix kits
I've recently been selling some vintage Airfix (and Frog, Revell, etc.) kits and realised I didn't really know much about the history of Airfix.
This book, although it's only small (96 pages and about 8" x 5.5") is remarkable for the amount of information contained in it.
There is a very well written history of Airfix (I won't spoil the surprise of telling you the items they first manufactured and the reason the came up with the name Airfix) with good quality photos.
There is a section describing how parts are injection moulded and the faults that might be found, how to rectify them and hints on building a 1:72 scale Spitfire PRXIX.
Then there is the story of James May's building of a 1:1 Spitfire.
At then end of the book is a comprehensive list of kits produced from 1949 to 2010.
I did spot a mathematical error in the book on page 76 (1.75cm should be 1.75mm) but this is not a critical error and can be excused given the high quality of the remainder of the book, but I hope it is corrected in later editions.
If you are interested in plastic model kits, this is definitely a book to buy, read and read again, then keep for reference.

Versatile, easy to use, probably cheaper than a unit with a keyboard
I bought one of these for use at work after our hand-held unit died. It was cheaper than a replacement handheld unit, it's much faster to create a label (the handheld unit had the buttons in a,b,c order rather than qwerty) and as stated in another review, you are not limited by what you can press, you can create custom images.
It's so good, I bought another one for home.
Compared with a Brother P-touch 1000 I have, there is less waste (leading and trailing "wasted" label) and the replacement tapes are cheaper.
If you have a PC (or a Mac) - and these days who hasn't? - this is the easiest way to make labels.
Just one thing to note - the tape supplied is only 3m long. Replacement tapes are usually 7m, so you may need to buy a new tape fairly soon after purchasing the printer.
