Murdoch Mysteries - Except the Dying Book by Maureen Jennings
This is the first book in the series on which the TV series The Murdoch Mysteries is based, while there are some differences in the book from the TV series fans of the TV series will have no trouble following the action in the book.
A great stand alone book or it can be read in conjunction with the other books in the series and can be used as background for the TV series as well.
A great read especially for history and criminology fans.

Murdoch Mysteries - Under the Dragon's Tail
This is the second book in the Murdoch Mysteries series by Maureen Jennings on which the TV series is based. While the books and TV series and very different from each other in the mysteries and character their difference actually compliments each other. This book, like the others in the series is an excellent stand alone book that keeps you guessing right to the end with an in depth examination of each character and a wealth of historical detail.
