Coleman Road Trip Beach Shade Tent Sun Shelters w/ UV Guard Protection
    25 Jul, 2016
Perfect first aid station for my Cub Scout Day Camp
This sun shelter was used as a first aid station for my cub scouts at Cub Scout day camp. It is compact, lightweight, and was fairly simple to put up by myself. The main door can zip up to create a changing room, and has a nifty built in clothes line to hang a couple of bathing suits to dry. I would recommend practice with setting it up at least once before using it so you can get the gist of how to do it. I wanted a shelter that would accommodate a standard adult camp chair, and this shelter did not disappoint. It can fit 2 standard camp chairs very comfortably. The full size window in the back is awesome for air circulation and can be used as a second entrance if needed. It can also block the sun and provide good shelter from not only the sun, but the rain as well. My shelter was set up for 4 days straight and held up very well. In the early morning of the 4th day, we had a thunder storm roll through. Upon arrival to camp later that morning, I expected to see damage to the shelter. Not only was it still standing, there was no damage and it was completely dry on the inside! I was impressed! The take down was simple and storing it back into the bag was not as difficult as some reviews indicated. The mesh system where the poles slip through are not the greatest designs. If you are not careful with guiding them through, the poles will catch the mesh fabric and tear it. So be gentle and have patience. The stakes that the tent came with are cheap, aluminum and I bent them upon staking them into the ground on the first day. Needless to say, I will be buying new ones that can withstand the hard ground, and will be easier to spot if the tent slips off the stakes during a gust of wind, like it did on the first day. Other than that, this is an awesome shade and worked perfectly for my cub scout day camp.

Set of Motorola Talkabout MC220 AA FRS GMRS 2-Way Radio Walkie Talkie BLUE

    Fantastic long range distance
I used them for keeping in contact with my staff for 4 days during Cub Scout Day Camp. They worked perfectly over the 20 plus acres of land without skipping a beat. Keeping in contact with my range masters as well as the cooking station leaders was imperative since they were all not within eyesight of headquarters. It was nice to be able to recharge the walkie-talkie's and not have to worry about buying batteries everyday. However, if you were in a pinch, you could always use the standard AAA batteries just fine. My set didn't come with instructions, but if you are a little tech savvy, knowing how to set them to the right channel to a different set of walkie talkies is fairly easy. I'm sure Google could find instructions for you if you really wanted them. All in all, these lightweight walkie talkies were a great buy and I would highly recommend them.
