Quality
Have been eyeing a Filson for some time now. After arrival it met all expectations. Really like the “tin” material. It is substantial without being overly thick and seems like it will put up with wear and use well. Can’t speak to the frequency and need to refinish with the included oil/wax but I wouldn’t expect this to be beyond “water resistant” in any case. There is some heft to the weight of the bag but not unreasonable depending on what is carried and for how long. For my purposes traveling or carrying to/from work and my car it hasn’t been an issue. The Navy color is very dark but in the light (and I’m sure with more wear) it contrasts well with the dark brown of the bridle leather. The strap is not leather but is thick and substantial and I’ve had no issues with it. Finally the carrying capacity is considerable - but keep in mind that it looks/functions best when about 70% full at max. Beyond that it becomes cumbersome and probably too heavy also.
TL;DR Quality materials that combine function and stylish form that can be both professional and casual at once. If you are thinking of getting one, just do it.
