A lovely book for small children.
My grandson, Harry, loves 'lift the flap' books. He's coming up for 18 months but he's quite knowledgeable about what he likes and doesn't like. He's not keen on too many words, even if the illustrations are beautiful. He likes 'touchy-feely' books too. We have a small selection of the 'That's not my' books and Spot books and these are read again...and again...and again.
My sons had a copy of 'Dear Zoo' which I unearthed to enlarge the selection (and stop going crazy) but someone at some time had scribbled all over it and Harry didn't like torn pages and messed up elephants....so I bought this copy.
It's nice and clean and Harry loves reading it. So far, the record is 4 times through, cover to cover, in one morning. Please help me!
Seriously, it's great. Not too much text, nice illustrations that are easy to understand and flaps to open. A real 5-star winner. And he's getting 'Dear Santa' for Christmas!

We love Ben and Holly
My grandsons love Ben and Holly. They also like Peppa Pig, but my vote goes to Ben and Holly every time, as the scripts incorporate lovely wee adult references that whizz over the heads of the kids. Watch the Wise Old Elf collecting honey in a bee hive as a rip off of Tom Cruise in a Mission Impossible, only Mr Cruise wasn't dressed as a bee at the time! The script of this DVD is equally good. (No spoilers) The cartoons are equally good, with an amazing amount of facial expression on faces that look at first glance like cut up paper. The fairies flutter their wings when they're happy, Gaston the ladybird's feelers droop when he's sad. And the voices and characterisations are amazing. King Thistle's very self centred, Nanny Plum's a wee bit crazy in a fun way, The Wise Old Elf can be anything but wise sometimes, Queen Thistle's their world's worst baker.... S'wonderful.
So, if you want a nice DVD to watch with small kids and you don't want to go out of your mind with boredom/annoyance, buy this DVD. Or any of the others in this series. They're all great.

Seriously addictive - watch and enjoy at your peril! Buy a copy NOW!
2 of 2 found this helpful DVD was new and sealed, so was fantastic value. My friend, a longterm fan of the series, bought me Series 1 for Christmas and I am now completely hooked and now find it even harder, thanks to this DVD, to return to the real world. Nothing to dislike about it. Well-written, beautifully set and dressed, fabulously well acted, it's lovely to watch and I'm very glad to have bought it.
