Clip fix
This clip is for the end of the cable which is a ball and socket joint. The plastic socket wears and then the steel ball comes adrift so you loose gearbox function. All of the info and video help i came across shows this problem occurring at the gearbox end of the cable my problem was at the gearstick end. The clip is suitable for both ends. You could make a similar clip yourself I suppose but the clip is well made it’s stainless steel and for the money not worth the bother. It does the job and I feel it will last. Cheaper and easier than replacing the whole cable. I have bought another one to keep in the van in case I get caught out again. There are two cables which equal four ends with a potential problem problem occurring

I have two of these now in different rooms on different tv s (obviously). Great bit of kit.
