Life-Changing. Highly Recommended.
If you've never owned Tile before, it will change your life.
Honest.
OK, it doesn't SOUND that exciting, but the first time that you are late leaving the house and Tile helps you find your car keys that somehow fell behind the sofa...
The OLD Tiles had a major problem -- you couldn't replace the battery, so you basically paid a bunch of money and had to throw them out once a year.
This is the NEW style Tile, which has an easily replaceable battery -- fantastic.
I highly recommend this to all my friends.

I Love Tile, BUT...
The good news -- this is an amazing product that will change your life. No more lost car keys. No more hunting for the TV remote. Just push a button on your smartphone and your Tile tag will beep loudly until you find it. I own 10 of these and think they're terrific. It's convenient when Tile finds your car keys on your kitchen table, but it's AMAZING when it locates your keys after they've fallen down behind the bookcase where you would probably never find them.
It's important to understand what Tile can and can NOT do.
Tile uses Bluetooth to remember the last time that the Tile tag and your smartphone were in the same place. So if you left your Tile-tagged wallet at your friend's house, Tile would state on your smartphone: "Last seen: 174 Oak Street." I recognize that address -- that's Susan's house -- got it! You could go there and then your Tile tag would beep until you found it. Great!
Tiles is NOT a GPS. So if you dropped your wallet on the street, someone found it, and turned it in to the police, Tile would state, "Last seen: 421 W. 31st Street" (What's THAT address? Doesn't ring any bells...) Tile would not understand that your wallet had been moved away from that location and taken to the police station.
There IS a feature where you can mark your Tile as lost and if ANYONE who uses the Tile service passes close by your missing Tile it will send an alert, but personally I think that's a long shot.
The bad news (and it IS bad!) is that each Tile only lasts for about a year -- the batteries are not replaceable. After a year you will start to receive a never-ending stream of alerts on your phone that you should replace your Tile. There is no way to turn off those alerts. The Tile will still last for weeks or even months after that first notice, but you'll still keep getting those annoying alerts. To me this means that you don't really OWN Tile -- you "rent" it, since after a year you have to replace all of them. Tile does offer a discount price for replacing worn out Tiles, but you can get them new and cheaper on eBay.
