My large horse has cracked 3 standard feeders just leaning into them or pulling with his head. The feeder has a metal rounded frame that is strong and prevents such breakage. The metal frame is what is secured to he barn wall, not the plastic frame of the feeder which are easily torn through. The feeder bucket also has lateral bars which prevents them from tossing feed out with their noses. Tremendous product, just wish I did not have to go to England to get it.
I have used this design since it was offered by HUSKY in metal.
The Red Nack Knife with Tim Allen which is a plastic copy of the original Husky box cutter works more reliably for chnging blades than this particular Ryobi version. I have had this Ryobi model before and I also had problems with the slide buttons being difficult to release which was why I ordered a replacement. The replcement is having the same problem where I am having to use a hammer to free up the plasctic sliding button to change blades!!
I ordered a Red Tim Allen "Nack Knife" (NOT THE ORIGINAL NAME by HUSKY). It is performing as it should. It performs much better. I still prefer the metal version as it is even smoother for sliding the buttons to change blades!
I was lucky and found a metal version on EBAY!! I should be okay for a good while.
This design is by far my favorite box cutter.
