Into The Maelstrom - The Wreck Of HMHS Rohilla, Non Fiction Books, Brand New
    13 Jul, 2016
    Gripping maritime disaster story
This tragic disaster occurring in terrible stormy conditions is more poignant as it takes place so close to shore off Whitby harbour. Hence the main theme of the book is the heroic efforts, mainly by several lifeboat crews but also of the numerous people of varied backgrounds showing such bravery to assist in rescuing as many people as possible from the wreckage of the Rohilla which lay so close to land yet painfully so far. The book is well structured and the sequence of events well told. A great deal of research has gone into the more fuller story of the people involved both on the vessel and those taking part in the rescue. A slight negative for me was that sections of the book were a little too repetitive. Overall a highly recommended read.

Winter: A Berlin Family, 1899-1945 By Len Deighton. 9780586068953

A great novel by a master writer.
A great book by a great writer. Deighton is thoroughly knowledgable about his story location Berlin, it's social history of the period and it's recovery in the aftermath of ww2. The book also forms the foundation of his following novel series featuring his fictional superb character Bernard Samson.
BT 4000 SINGLE BIG BUTTON DIGITAL CORDLESS TELEPHONE WITH SPEAKER PHONE

    simple clear cordless phone
Replaced an older but expensive cordless phone with this bargain priced, simple to use and good quality unit. Easy to set up and can't fault it's use at all. Quite simply a bargain and recommended more so for those wanting a large clear display.
