Good Premise, Getting a Bit Long in the Tooth
This book deals with a standard theme - a hardened tough guy driving cross country through a post-apocalyptic United States. Considerable gratuitous violence and suspension of physical laws (rainstorms of rocks and boulders, decades after the dust from atomic war settled). But an early version of many of the "hell road" movies, such as "Mad Max".

Theese EES SOO Miserable!
How miserable is this collection? It is so miserable, I almost lost it watching! Requires an IQ not to exceed 25, tolerance of just about any bodily function, and loss of all political correctness.
In other words, if you are not too anal retentive, enjoy large amounts of total insanity, and have no biases, you may just laugh your arse off! Enjoy at your own risk!

Prophetic and Realistic
This book was written ten years ago, but the assumption (out of control spending and uncontrolled borders) is exactly describing today's condition. Some of the situations are a bit contrived, but this IS a story. Along the way, it throws in a number of good practical fixes, solutions and tactics. It gets a bit fixated on unnecessary details of weapons and their advantages/disadvantages, but in all, is a great read that you end up saying "Yes, I recognize that situation."
