Fantastic Four
Fantastic Four - the surprise superhero smash hit of 2005 - was big, loud, colourful and downright good-naturedly stupid. This repeats that winning formula. Think kiddie-aimed X-Men minus the angst.
Ultra-stretchy scientist (Ioan Gruffudd) is about to marry cute invisible girl (Jessica Alba), only for a shiny new baddie on a nifty silver surfboard to intrude before the 'I do'. But it's the antics of comic sidekicks human torch (Chris Evans) and brick man (Michael Chiklis) that make this speed by in less than 90 minutes. What a joy to see superheroes having a cartoonish ball, rather than lurking in Batcaves, nursing psychological traumas and pondering why they can't form lasting relationships, for once.
