Expanding the repetoire of recipes
I had seen good reviews of this book and decided to order it from the same seller as the more basic book I needed to start me off using a recently acquired old Tower slow cooker.
It has some very useful introductory sections on slow cooker basics, techniques etc. before the recipe section.
This includes an adventurous selection of recipes and meals that mix traditional and more modern styles.
It is well illustrated with good colour photographs of the finished dishes and a nice book to browse through looking for ideas. I have already bookmarked several that I want to try very soon.
My only quibble is the format - at 1/2 an inch wider than standard A4 with 160 glossy quality pages, and an even heavier quality paperback I find it a little unwieldy to hold. It will however just sit, a little precariously, in my clearview perspex recipe book stand.

A great little distributor
This is to replace a defective audio-distributor (from the now defunct Tandy chain) which I've used to route TV sound and Record-player output (with one spare output) through my Hi-Fi system speakers. The old one began to fail, losing the Right channel sporadically. This new one looks, and sounds, even better.

Latecomer to Slow cookers
1 of 1 found this helpful The old, but little used Tower Auto Cooker I acquired recently came minus handbook or recipes. I am an experienced cook but a late comer to the delights of slow cookers. It is important to know those few basic tips on using this cooking method - as I found out with my first, less than 100% successful attempt to use it.
That was when I started my search for the missing book or one similar to it.
This book was exactly what I needed to give me the confidence to start using the cooker properly and it has been in daily use since I received it - preparing dishes for the freezer for a forthcoming family reunion. Although recipes can be adapted for the slow cooker it is good to start with some that come with clear instructions for slow cooking.
If you are a busy person who likes to cook and serve good wholesome and unusual meals for family and friends do consider a slow cooker - they can help you produce far more than your favourite casseroles - I'd no idea you could cook cakes and puddings in them too!
