Cost effective replacement but not for the faint hearted.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a very cost effective way to replace the keyboard on your laptop but there are some caveats. The keyboard itself appears to be a genuine Dell part and once installed I found it worked perfectly. You will need to be confident that you can strip the laptop down and rebuild it. Dowloading the maintenance manual from Dell is essential in my view. The keyboard is not meant to be user replaceable and is fixed in place in the palm rest by plastic pegs that are heat treated by machine. You will need to cut off the heads of the pegs to remove the old keyboard and then find a suitable method to fix the new keyboard in place. I used a hot glue gun on the tops of the pegs which worked ok for me.
