Worth the cost
I really like the Vortex Pro Series Rings. I have never had to Lap a set of them . I am told by the factory that it is not necessary to lap but there is no reason you can't if you want to. I match these rings with a high quality aluminum base. For the Pro Series (aluminum) I limit them to 30:06 caliber or less. Above there I use steel rings and bases. I highly recommend these rings but..... to get the best performance use a torque-wrench when mounting.
