A gem of a movie
I rented this movie somewhere and was impressed enough to buy it. It is a quiet, enjoyable story of three people trying to figure out their lives and life in general. The story is simple, a teacher in Spain is wanting to meet John Lennon while he is in Almeira Spain filming a movie. Along the way he picks up two runaways (male and female) who are on their own quest so to speak. The acting is top notch across the board. The movie though quiet and paced is not dull. The other noteworthy thing about this movie is that people treat each other decently. This is refreshing and is not done is some sentimental sloppy fashion. All in all it is worth the five stars given; a nice break from the saturated waters of CGI and the like - an actual plot and script. What a concept!

Rock n' Roll at its Best!
Eddie and the Hot Rods are a band that have never made it big in the United States. Not sure why as they generally, particularly in the early days, wrote some great music. This CD is no exception and in fact is probably their high point. This CD version comes with all the original songs from the original album and in addition throws in some extra tracks. All the originals sound great and the extra tracks are enjoyable as well, not filler. This CD contains their biggest hit "Do Anything You Wanna Do" a phenomenally catchy tune that kicks from start to finish. The last song on the original album was "The Beginning of the End," a solidly well crafted and rockin' song with an apocalyptic edge. I could go on and on about the merits of this great CD but suffice it to say get beyond the "classic rock" boredom that you hear over and over and over and enjoy some rock music that is both well crafted and will have you wanting bigger speakers! An incredible R&R CD.

A must have for funny car nostalgia
This is a great book. If you spent any time at the drag strip back in the late sixties and early seventies and loved funny cars this is the book for you. Loaded with plenty of color and black and white photos this will have you pouring over the pages repeatedly. This book covers mostly the funny cars of the seventies and to my knowledge pretty much every famous funny car of this time period is covered in this book. The black and white photos are quite good but its the quality and number of color photos that stand out. Steve Reyes is an excellent photographer and really captures the excitement of that era. Additionally the text is quite good as well. An excellent representation of funny cars back in the day when funny cars were at the height of their glory. If names like Jungle Jim, Don the Snake, and Chi Town Hustler bring back fond memories, then buy this book.
