Good quality portable cd player.
I got this portable cd player for my birthday, and it is a great little unit, if like me you still prefer to listening to cds rather than digital music then I recommend this cd player, it is very easy to use, has good sound quality although, it is not as loud as some cd players I have had.
Battery life is around 4 hours for 2 rechargeable AA batteries they are just regular rechargeable batteries and not premium ones which may last a bit longer.
This player plays CD-R discs also. After a few weeks of constant use you may need to blow on the lens or clean the cds.
Although its portable I have not tried walking with it or jogging, it does say it has a 60 second Anti- shock but I have found that even moving slightly can make the cd skip a bit or it could be the cd I am listening to.
This is actually the 2nd cd player I have bought, the same make and model as I was listening to my old one and several times had to answer the door bell while wearing earphones and pulled the cd player off my sofa and hit the floor which made the lid a little loose, and so doesn't read cds so well. but I liked it so much I bought another one and for £10 I can't complain.
You can use an adapter and plug it into the mains, but not sure what voltage.
My only complaint is that the earphones which come with the player aren't very good and so I use my regular pair, also sound isn't good through the earphones that came with it.
Other than that its a great portable cd player - if you can get it for £20 or under its a great buy.

save the last dance.
i loved this movie and it went straight into my top 10, having seen other music based films as a kid ( grease, dirty dancing ) i enjoyed the setting and grittyness of the backdrop of this movie, its kind of like a cross between dangerous minds and dirty dancing, that is fresh with great lead characters, ( i especially like it when julia stiles is a lead ) and great supporting cast, its modern, with a great sounding sound track, and a lot of character depth, another aspect that drew me to this film was not only the characters stroies but also the predjedice they had to endure from their peers. this is like a dirty dancing that is ok for guys to watch. stiles in particular is impressive with her dancing and shows off more of her already impressive repetoir. there is a bit of everything in this movie, music, dance, romance, a good story and great actors, for under £5 this dvd is a valued addition to my small collection.

Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (DVD 2000)
This is one of my alltime favourite movies, i love biography movies and this is no exception, this tells the stroy of the legend known as bruce lee, the early years, where he trained in kung fu, him moving to america with dreams and ambitions, how he took a lowly job as a dishwasher before having conflict which would happen time and again during his life. from there he put himself through college and taught kung fu to other people which was frowned upon so he had to deal not only with predjudice from american people for being chinese but also from members of the chinese community itself. There he meets linda who would become his wife and being as she was a white girl this led to predjudice again from people on both sides even from lindas family, even doing something as simple as going for a meal was a problem as people at restaurants didnt want a chinese man and white woman to be in thier vicinity. now bruce became famous for his martial arts but little did some know that he was also into phillosophy and had a yearning for trying to show the world the beauty of chinese culture - something that after his death would happen. this movie has got parts which are fictional such as an underground fight where bruce gets paraylised - from reading other sources this actually came about while doing martial arts and stunts and not a fight but it does enhance the story. during his time in hospital linda stuck by her husband and helped him write his tao and theories of Jeet kun do his own method of fighting that would go agaisnt some of the more traditional fighting styles to which he had critics. after seeing bruce at a martial arts exhibition, where bruce demonstrated his jeet kun do he gets a an offer from a television producer to appear in the green hornet production, this short lived series showed bruce that he also had talent for acting. and so after visiting his homeland for the funeral of his father he gets approached by a chinese film maker who helped produce the big boss which opened to wide spread acclaim, later he was to also make enter the dragon which 3 weeks before it opened world wide, bruce fell into a coma and mysteriously died. even today people still talk and come up with theories about his death and more so years later when his son brandon also died at a tragically young age. it was said that bruce had his own demons and in this film were represented by an ancient warrior that bruce has to fight in a dream like state. the casting for this film was genius in terms of the leading characters, jason scott lee brings the legend back to life in this epic portrayal of his life where lauren holly is brilliant co-starring as his wife linda. the only thing that disappointed me about this version was that some of the extras listed on the cover were not actually on the dvd. but at a cheap price if you are a fan of bruce lee then this film is a must. This film is in my top 5 films of all time. it has fighting as you would expect - but not overly bloody or gory like some modern day films, a nice tale about love and also culture so it stimulates on many levels. and i love the theme song which is a mix of classical, chinese themed and uplifting sound makes it perfect for chilling out to. this film also got me interested more in chinese culture and in the man himself and so has surpassed my expectations. while not 100% perfect i think this is close for a biography and very entertaining. 9 /10
