It's like two lenses in one
At the largest aperture, the lens offers incredibly endearing character. Stopping down to f/5.6 and beyond lets the modern characteristics like contrast and sharpness shine. I don't see any focus shift in my example. The lens is a great value for anyone looking for an affordable, compact, and characterful full frame wide angle lens.

Dreamy when you want it and sharp when you need it
1 of 1 found this helpful I use my recently received PENTAX SMC Takumar 55mm f/1.8 with a Rainbow Camera focal reducer on my M4/3 camera. While images captured at f1.8 have a creamy, un-sharp, and dreamy quality, the lens is tack sharp above f2.0.

An essential tool
The Trackpad 2's angle of use is a lot more comfortable than that of the Trackpad 1. For something I use day in and day out, it is worth the price.
