A disappointment
When first lighting the hog roast machine the paint on the outside and underneath of the machine caught fire (please see photograph attached of burnt paintwork and flames at the bottom). The smell was atrocious. We had to wait for this to burn off before we could start cooking. The machine also lacks any method to catch the dripping fat of the hog as it cooks. We had to invent a foil gutter to do this. There are also open corners at the base of the charcoal pit so be warned that hot ash and fat drips out through these onto whatever surface the machine is standing on. We ended up putting large foil trays under each of the wheels. Overall the machine is very flimsy and is unlikely to stand the test of time. An expensive disappointment.
