RCA DRC8335 DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

Had to exchange the first one because it wouldn't play tapes well. They were garbled and had colors running through them. The second one was ok for a couple of weeks with very little use then started playback at a very high speed so was impossible to watch. The manual was written in a way that didn't instruct you in the proper order. You might find the instructions you need further on in the book under a different topic. Both units got very hot. We had it out in the open so there would be adequate air circulation but ended up putting a small fan behind it because the tapes and DVDs would come out so hot after use. This was a refurbished product. I don't know how the new ones perform. We have a Zenith that we bought brand new about 4 or 5 years ago that has never given us any problems and is much easier to operate. The seller refunded our money after we gave the second one a try so this is NOT against the seller. I saw in the feedback that they sell a lot of these and almost all of them had a good feedback so I don't know If I just happened to get a couple of lemons but I was not pleased with thie product at all.
