Sinkers for surf fishing
These sinkers work great for holding hook and bait in place when cast into the surf. They greatly resist getting swept sideways or being washed into the beach. I successfully used three ounce sputnik sinker on at least 7 nights of shark fishing and found that one ounce sinkers were great for whiting, pompano, etc. Under the influence of a very heavy under toe a 4-6 ounce sputnik sinker might be needed but not for most situations that I find when I fish the surf. I caught several nice sharks using the 3 ounce sputnik sinker including a 70 inch nurse shark.

Although not cheap it works great and does the job and is very lightweight

Don't buy this reel
0 of 1 found this helpful Bought two and neither lasted one month without problems. Evidently the salt water of the surf penetrated into the reels and greatly affected performance. One became useless and the rewind became extremely stiff. The other was very rough after a few goes in the surf.
