Small and reliable design.
Nice very small design that seems to work well with my low current amplifiers.

Perfect for POE cameras
I bought this as new old stock as this model has been discontinued. It will work fine for me for a POE home camera set up. This switch is easy to understand and doesn't require an IT masters degree to make it work. The initial network connection to the switch required me changing the IP on my PC to the same default VLAN (223) for setting it up first time only. I then changed the switch IP address to my network vlan and all is well. Can be scary the first time when you don't understand the nature of the IP world but remember there is a restore to factory default so that is a confidence builder when your accident prone like me.
When you log into the switch you can do all sorts of network switch settings to each individual port and view the data that prove the cameras and computers talking to the switch. Each port can be configured or viewed to get an idea that things are working as should. And, with this managed switch, it worked out of the box and I did change a thing to get it to work. It just does but if I want to get more in depth, I can play with the managed settings and even save a backup configuration to a file in case it gets corrupt. Just reload it. Only do this through a hard wire connection though as Trendnet states..
A real nice feature on this switch is the power led indicator which shows total power used. A 120 watt POE power supply and each of the camaera's I have are using about 6 watts. 3 cameras were plugged in and led is is showing 102 or 18 watts used. I walked away knowing it is working exactly as it should before I even looked at the camera pictures on the network.. Won't that be nice if there is a problem. Nice switch and kudos to Trendnet for innovative thinking. I am sure the new ones are even better.
